So it looks like we're opening for Blind Melon soon and it occured to us that we've played with a lot of bands from the 90s - I guess it influenced our sound more than we'd like to admit. At least we've never played with The Spin Doctors or the Long Beach Dub All Stars. We're looking forward to sharing the stage with Blind Melon (and the new singer, Chris).

ALSO: This will be Dr. Mark Pezzo's last show with the band and we'll be auditioning new bassists after the first of the year while we finish the new record. If all goes according to plan, the first show back will be to celebrate the release of the new record.

We found a drummer! His name is Mike Podber, but we'll just call him "Mike 3." Also, visit the MySpace page for a sneak preview of the new song, "Crazy from the Cold."

Here's the latest scoop: While still putting the finishing touches on the full-length, we're now currently recording a new four-song EP with Brian Merrill (Barely Pink, The Ditchflowers). At only four songs, the thing looks to still be about 40 minutes of music. Don't ask. The track listing so far - 1) Deus Ex Machina 2) Crazy from the Cold 3) Edgeplay 4) Process of Admitting Defeat.

In other news, we're auditioning drummers and hopefully will be debuting a new full band lineup very soon!

Word up to those that hung out with us at Crowbar in Ybor City the other night (Tiffany, Laura, Jessica, et. al.) We'll be back there again on the 18th to celebrate Joran's birthday, when Suzi Q. will join us for a very special acoustic band performance.

A bunch of great shows coming up. Both acoustic and full band. Check the shows page. If you haven't met her already, come see our newest addition - Kristal Guerrero (backup vocals). We opened for Teddy Geiger last night. My ears are still ringing from all of the female shrieking. But we met a bunch of cool new people (Kristen, Alex, as well as some of the parents in the crowd), who dug the music and I'm sure we'll see them all again at the shows!

BTW, at the Sugar Doll Blue show on November 18, we will be joined by Andrew Hawthorne who will be projecting live video during our set!

Recording sessions for "The New Aezthetic" have resumed and after we finish up some lead guitar, synth and vocal work, we should be ready to mix it all down and release it sometime early next year over the heads of a completely apathetic public. Not only has this album taken two years to finish, it contains amazing performances by some "Bay Area luminaries" (read: our friends) and I'm proud to have captured all of this magic on one record. We all have our Grammy speeches prepared and are ready to go.

Sometime before, during or after the release of "The New Aezthetic," I'll be putting out a solo acoustic record which I am currently recording with Ronnie Dee. It will contain some acoustic versions of the Auditorium songs, some newer numbers like "Brand New Heart," maybe some electronic excursions and possibly some unreleased Gita material. I know you're not even ready for that, but don't worry, there's still time to mentally prepare.

Keep checking the Web site for updates. And let us know if you find any drummers, bass players and/or fans of our music. We'd love to know who they are.
